Update on the Midget / Minor Midget Program
Based on the number of players attending the tryouts held on August 28th, 29th, and September 2nd, it appears that the FHA will not be able to ice both a Midget 'AA' and Minor Midget 'AA' team unless we see additional players at tryouts next week. We see strong numbers in our 1995 Minor Midget program yet the 1993 / 1994 numbers are very low for interest in 'AA' hockey. There have been comments made to FHA Board Members that problems with last year's Midget program has caused our numbers to drop in the 1993 / 1994 age groups. Please understand that there are several new Board Members, as well as the returning Board Members, that are working hard to ice both teams. However, we need to see a commitment from the 1993 / 1994 players.

 

OMHA rules state that Clubs must ice a Midget 'AA' team before they can ice Minor Midget 'AA'. However, the FHA may apply for an exemption from the OMHA to ice a Minor Midget 'AA' team. There are no guarantees the FHA will be successful in this request. Also, without Midget 'AA', there is no possibility of Midget Select based on OMHA rules.  

 

The FHA Board will have tryouts next week and the tryouts will be broken down into:

Minor Midget (1995) players:

 Tuesday September 7th, 9:00pm @ Carlisle Arena

 Thursday September 9th,  9:00pm @ Carlisle Arena

Please note that the tryouts above may be exhibition games. Details are T.B.A.

 

Midget (1993 / 1994) players:

 Wednesday September 8th, 9:00pm @ Carlisle Arena
